The current film industry limits creativity and opportunity.

Creatives lack access to funding, equipment and connections, causing many projects to never be made. When they are produced, traditional distribution favours big studios and prioritizes safe, formulaic stories, leaving diverse perspectives behind.

At the same time, audiences are treated as passive consumers with no direct way to engage with or support stories they believe in, creating a disconnect that limits both artistic and financial growth.

The result is a broken system where storytellers can’t create, audiences can’t connect, and the world misses out on stories that matter.

We are building a sustainable, community-driven model that redefines what filmmaking is by focusing on creators, visibility, and audience engagement.

By providing finances and professional equipment, motif enables storytellers to bring their ideas to audiences worldwide. Through YouTube distribution, the motif+ membership program, and strategic marketing, creators gain the visibility they need.

Unlike traditional studios, motif prioritizes bold and diverse storytelling, ensuring that authentic films have the opportunity to thrive. Most importantly, we bridge the gap between creators and audiences, giving fans the ability to directly fund and engage with the filmmakers they believe in.

Our plan for Truffle Hunter is to go from festival run, to theatrical release, and then to streaming.

FESTIVAL RUN

Our own team and the partners we are working with have had major festival successes that show Truffle Hunter can have a high-profile global run. Leitmotif Pictures has screened films at Cannes and Whistler, among others. Theeb — from the team we are collaborating with — premiered at Venice, won Best Director in the Horizons section, earned an Oscar nomination, and picked up awards worldwide. MAD World represents Mohammed Nizar, whose latest film Sink premiered at TIFF, and with their festival networks and sales experience, together we can ensure Truffle Hunter secures major festival premieres and industry buzz.

CINEMA RELEASE

Our cinema release plan for Truffle Hunter is built on partners with proven theatrical experience. MAD Distribution has released hundreds of films — including Theeb and other award-linked titles — across key territories, from the Arab world to international screens. Combined with the Theeb team’s global release experience, we have the contacts and strategy to reach audiences beyond festivals and build box office momentum.

STREAMING

Our plan for Truffle Hunter includes securing strong streaming placement after festivals and theatrical release. Our partners at MAD World have handled international sales that place films into platforms like Netflix and global streaming deals, while Leitmotif has already placed content on Canadian streaming through CBC Gem. Leveraging these relationships, we will position Truffle Hunter for broad streaming discovery and audience engagement worldwide.
